“Our Custom Hot Rod Speed Shop” from The Kid in Me™ by Noah. There’s nothing like watching our kids set out on adventures and creativity. Recently Lil’ Noah and Griffin have been transforming the rooms of our house into forts, castles and hotels. During this season of life, as the kids are growing up, its triggered lots of memories. Mostly me as a kid with my own sister using our imagination to create worlds right in our own home. This week The Kid in Me celebrates childhood through my newest piece “Our Custom Hot Rod Speed Shop”. The car is made from cardboard boxes, the headlamp made from taped on styrofoam cups. Custom flames on the hood with a fork for windshield wipers. I used to use my San Francisco 49ers helmet as a race helmet. My sister an upside down pan on her head to fabricate and fix the car. Our ski goggles would be pulled from the winter stash of ski gear. We would grab the toolbox Grandpa gave us and go to town on our creations. May we soak up the memories of our kids and celebrate boredom as it spurs creativity. Keep a lot of tape around the house… It can come in handy.
