Remember the days when you were a kid and you were bored out of your mind? Then you remember that story that there is treasure hidden in the backyard. What do you do? You grab a shovel and start digging!!
Our youth is filled with adventure and the wonder of what the world has to offer. Our first adventures were the ones in our backyard. This is where we traveled to far away places building things out of anything we could find. It was a haven for creativity.
I remember being a kid and digging for hidden treasure in the backyard. I wondered what the treasure chest looked like. I wondered what was inside. When drawing this piece I remembered the houses in the old neighborhoods. The trees were giant canopies and kids would poke there head over the fence to see what was going on. It was these times that “faith” and “believing” were so big in the result of what we were doing. We really believed there WAS treasure. My prayer, is that the kid in all of us never lose the spirit of adventure as well as the quest and search for what makes our heart full of joy!
